El sector del turismo ha contribuido de una forma muy importante al desarrollo y al crecimiento de la economía española. Debido a la relevancia de este sector, nuestro estudio se orientará al análisis del sector hotelero, en particular, analizaremos los niveles de eficiencia que obtienen los hoteles de las ciudades de Madrid y Benidorm, las cuales forman parte de los destinos turísticos más visitados y por tanto será fundamental la correcta gestión de su actividad productiva. Para llevar a cabo este estudio, emplearemos la metodología del análisis envolvente de datos (DEA).
[EN]Tourism has importantly contributed to the development and increase of Spanish economy. Due to the relevance of this sector, our study will be focused on the analysis of the hotel sector. We will analyse the efficiency levels which are obtained by hotels in Madrid and Benidorm. These are two of the most visited tourist destinations in Spain, so it will be essential the appropriate management of its productive activity. In order to develop this study, we will apply the Data Envelopment Analysis model (DEA).
