El presente trabajo pretende realizar una revisión del trastorno obsesivo compulsivo (TOC) en la infancia y la adolescencia. Se abordan por tanto las características y criterios diagnósticos del TOC así como la epidemiología del mismo y la comorbilidad con otros trastornos psicológicos. Además se trata en profundidad la etiología de este trastorno analizando los diferentes factores y modelos que lo explican. Finalmente se describen los instrumentos de evaluación y los tratamientos psicológicos y farmacológicos más eficaces.
The present work aims to carry out a review of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in childhood and adolescence. Therefore, the characteristics and diagnostic criteria of OCD are addressed, as well as its epidemiology and comorbidity with other psychological disorders. Furthermore, the etiology of this disorder is discussed in depth, analyzing the different factors and models that explain it. Finally, the evaluation instruments and the most effective psychological and pharmacological treatments are described.
