Since ancient times, the customs have been recited, sung and danced at village festivals, but with the passage of time they have fallen into oblivion. Some of them are still present thanks to the work of cultural associations, folklore groups or town councils, who watch over the preservation of this heritage of oral tradition. Torredonjimeno is located in the southwest of the province of Jaén, a town that treasures a rich corpus of legends, songs, dances and other cultural and artistic manifestations. The main objective of this work is to study the customs of this town, focusing on its traditional songbook. The second part is the didactic application of the theoretical framework, in which we will rescue two songs of yesteryear to bring them to life in the classroom through vocal and instrumental practice by secondary school children.
