La influencia de la tradición clásica en el teatro del Renacimiento

Abstract

Con la elaboración de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado, que se basará en una revisión e investigación bibliográfica acerca de la influencia de la Literatura Grecolatina en el Renacimiento Inglés, concretamente en la obra de Christopher Marlowe, pretendo alcanzar ciertos objetivos tales como:  Investigar sobre la Mitología en la Literatura Grecolatina. Mito de Hero y Leandro.  Plasmar la influencia que tuvo dicha mitología en Marlowe  Plasmar a su vez la influencia que éste autor tuvo, en relación a este tema, en otros escritores de la época. Dicha revisión bibliográfica estará estructurada en diferentes apartados. Para comenzar me adentraré en los orígenes de la comedia y su derivada tragedia para enlazar con la Mitología en las obras de nuestros ancestros. Después haré hincapié en el mito de Hero y Leandro; protagonista de este ensayo. En un tercer bloque hablaré de la influencia tanto de la literatura grecolatina como de la mitología en la Europa contemporánea, otorgándole después un sub apartado a Marlowe y a las obras de éste en las que aparece la mitología y el propio mito de Hero y Leandro. Para concluir mi ensayo plasmaré las conclusiones que considere relevantes y haré una especie de evaluación para comprobar si he cumplido los objetivos propuestos.

With the elaboration of this paper (Final Thesis of the Degree) which consist on a review and bibliographical investigation of the classical tradition into the English Theatre of Renaissance, particularly on Christopher Marlowe, I expect to reach some objectives such as:  To investigate about Mythology in the Classical Literature. Hero and Leander myth.  To express the influence that this mythology supposed in Marlowe’s works.  And to express, at the same time, the influence that Marlowe presented, according to this topic, into subsequent authors. This paper will be divided into different sections. To begin with, I will deal with the origins of the comedy and the derived tragedy in order to link it with the mythology inside these classical works. Then, I will deal in deep with the relevant myth of Hero and Leander; main subject of this essay. In a third contents block, I will express the influence of the classical literature and mythology within the Modern Europe, dealing after that with Marlowe and his works which were influenced by this old literature and also an analysis of Hero and Leander will be provided. To finish my essay, I will include a conclusion in order to make a feedback and realize if I have reached the expected objectives.
