Improving the quality of life in general, but especially in old age, has been the main focus of study in the most recent research. It is evident that the population is aging, and interest in overcoming difficulties characteristic of this stage of life is growing at the same rate. This health promotion is based on the idea of cognitive reserve, which is responsible for buffering the effects of cognitive decline. As interest in increasing cognitive reserve grows, so does the study of its protective factors. These factors include, among others, physical activity and leisure activities. In this literature review, we will analyze relevant studies related to cognitive reserve and the factors that help enhance it.
