Prevención de úlceras por presión en la fijación e inmovilización del catéter venoso periférico en pediatría.

Abstract

Las UPP son un problema real en la población pediátrica, según GNEAUPP. El 78.3% son evitables con ayuda de EVRUPP. Los estudios revisados dicen que la Braden Q es la más apropiada. Nos centramos en la prevención de upp en la fijación-inmovilización de los CVP en pediatría. El personal utiliza más el apósito transparente de poliuretano por su viabilidad, comodidad, facilidad y visualización constante del punto de inserción, zona donde aparecen estas lesiones. La “corbatilla” se debe hacer con tiras adhesivas estériles, alrededor del cono del catéter, previo a la colocación del apósito. La inmovilización con férula disminuye la aparición de flebitis y extravasación. Existe poca información de la importancia del tipo de piel en la aparición de estas lesiones. Con la escala de Fitzpatrick podemos identificar los pacientes más susceptibles de presentar upp realizando los cuidados necesarios y así disminuyendo el número de estancias y costes de las mismas.

The UPP are a real problem in the pediatric population, according to GNEAUPP. 78.3 % are avoidable with EVRUPP's help. The checked studies say that the Braden Q is the most appropriate. We centre this study in the prevention of upp in the fixation-immobilization of the CVP in pediatrics. The staff use more the transparent dressing of polyurethane for his viability, comfort, facility and constant visualization of the point of insertion, zone where these injuries appear. The "corbatilla" must be done by adhesive sterile strips, about the cone of the catheter, before placing the dressing. The immobilization with rod diminishes the appearance of phlebitis and extravasation. There exists little information of the importance of the type of skin in the appearance of these injuries. With Fitzpatrick's scale we can identify the patients most capable of presenting upp taking the necessary cares and diminishing the number of stays and costs of the same.
