This paper addresses vine cultivation, taking a global view and focusing on a specific area of study: Castilla-La Mancha. This approach is addressed from the perspective of the agricultural landscape, agricultural heritage, and rural development. First, it addresses the objectives pursued, the background, the spatial and temporal scope, and the theoretical framework. Then, in the results phase, it refers exclusively to the Castilla-La Mancha region in relation to this cultivation and the territories in which it is located, the landscape and heritage importance it entails, and the experiences and initiatives that have been carried out in this area. Finally, it sets out a series of proposals aimed at ensuring that the wine-growing landscapes of several municipalities in Castilla-La Mancha are included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
