Resumen
[ES]El trabajo aborda la gestión de las fronteras exteriores en la Unión Europea desde
una perspectiva del Derecho Internacional Público, Derecho Internacional de los Derechos
Humanos y Derecho de la Unión Europea. Se realiza una explicación general del concepto, su
evolución y los mecanismos por los que se proyecta. Además, se analiza la situación de las
fronteras exteriores en el contexto europeo actual, centrándose en el respeto de los derechos
humanos, la Declaración subscrita entre la Unión Europea y Turquía y la reciente crisis
migratoria europea. Por último, se exponen los nuevos retos a los que la Unión Europea va a
tener que hacer frente sobre esta cuestión en el futuro a corto y largo plazo y se plantean
algunas posibles soluciones.
[EN]The work deals with the management of the external borders in the European Union from an International Public Law, International Human Rights Law and European Union Law approach. A general explanation of the concept, his evolution and the mechanisms projected is carried out. Furthermore, the situation of the external borders in the current European context is analysed, focusing on the respect of the human rights, the Statement endorsed between the European Union and Turkey and the recent European migrant crisis. Finally, the new challenges about this issue that the European Union has to deal with in a short and long term are exposed, as well as some possible solutions.
