Los sistemas alternativos y aumentativos de comunicación

Abstract

El presente trabajo trata sobre la existencia de sistemas, los cuales pueden ser tanto alternativos como aumentativos a la comunicación. Estos sistemas son utilizados cuando la comunicación no se puede llevar a cabo mediante el sistema ordinario como el habla. Los Sistemas Alternativos y Aumentativos de Comunicación (SAAC) son recursos que están destinados para aquellas personas que tienen una afectación y facilitan tanto la comprensión como la expresión del lenguaje en personas que tienen ciertas dificultades en el habla. El sistema alternativo sustituye al lenguaje ya sea de manera temporal o permanente en aquellas personas que presentan imposibilidad total del lenguaje oral. Por otro lado, están los sistemas aumentativos, éstos no sustituyen si no que complementan al lenguaje cuando la persona tiene presente la capacidad del lenguaje oral, pero es deficitaria o poco funcional. Este sistema actuaría como modo de apoyo para el habla.

This work deals with the existence of systems, which can be both alternative and augmentative to communication. These systems are used when communication cannot be carried out through the ordinary system such as speech. Alternative and Augmentative Communication Systems (SAACs) are resources that are intended for those who have an impact and facilitate both understanding and expression of language in people who have certain speech difficulties. The alternative system replaces language either temporarily or permanently in those people who have total impossibility of oral language. On the other hand, there are Augmentative Systems, these are not a substitute but complement the language when the person is aware of the ability of oral language, but is in deficit or unfunctional. This system would act as a mode of support for speech.
