Universales del lenguaje

Abstract

Fuertemente viculada con la tipología lingüística existe la investigación de los universales de lenguaje. Estos, estudiados por el formalismo y el funcionalismo, se conforman como hipótesis empíricas que, dependiendo del punto de vista que se tome, pueden referirse a los elementos constituyentes del lenguaje (funcionalismo) o a la estructura interna del lenguaje (formalismo). En este trabajo se pretende estudiar estos universales, clasificarlos y aportar datos sobre su existencia. Por último, también se hará referencia a varias disciplinas lingüísticas donde los universales del lenguaje pueden ser útiles.

Closely linked to linguistic typology is the research on language universals. These, studied by formalism and functionalism, are formulated as empirical hypotheses that, depending on the perspective taken, can refer to the constituent elements of language (functionalism) or to the internal structure of language (formalism). This paper aims to study these universals, classify them, and provide data on their existence. Finally, reference will also be made to several linguistic disciplines where language universals can be useful.
