Una aproximación a la desigualdad de género en prisión

Abstract

[ES]En el presente trabajo de investigación se expone la necesidad de trabajar con perspectiva de género en todos los ámbitos del sistema penitenciario. Las políticas penitenciarias, pensadas y diseñadas para los varones, han creado una situación de desigualdad que se refleja en los derechos y deberes de las mujeres internas, la situación en la que cumplen su condena y las posibilidades que encuentran en los programas y cursos de reinserción. En este trabajo se expondrán también la importancia de las leyes y programas que apuestan por la igualdad en el ámbito de la prisión. Visualizar esta situación es necesario para alcanzar una igualdad real y para reflexionar sobre el papel del Trabajo Social en esta materia. Institutional politics, which have been thought and designed for the male population have created a situation of inequality that can be seen in the rights and duties of the female prisioners, their conviction situations and the possibilities offered to them in the programs and curriculums for reinsertion. In this paper it will be also exposed the importance of the laws and programs addressing for equality inside prisons. It is mandatory to acknowledge this situation in order to achieve real equality and to ponder about the role of Social Working in this matter. Key words. -Gender -Equality -Prison -Social Work
