Adults with Down syndrome are at high risk of developing Alzheimer's dementia. Because of this, this continued cognitive stimulation program is proposed in adults with Down syndrome, aiming to increase the cognitive reserve of those affected and, as far as possible, prevent the neurodegenerative process. Cognitive reserve has been validated and amply studied in literature, related to cushioning and slowing the onset and development of dementia. In this way, through this program, both preserved and altered cognitive functions would be stimulated neuropsychological profile of Down syndrome. The methodology and working perspective would be to stimulate cognitive functions that present deficits with the help of preserved functions. In addition, the implementation of the program would be based on the values of comprehension, patience and flexibility.
