The skin is the outermost barrier found on the body, which is why the diseases it suffers from are the most visible and stigmatized nowadays. Epidermolysis bullosa is a skin disease characterized by extreme fragility of the skin, causing open wounds, blisters or peeling with the slightest touch. It is considered a rare disease as it affects less than 5 out of 10,000 people. The aim of this study was to check whether the emotion behind epidermolysis bullosa is sadness, and to this end a literature review was carried out. The results showed that people with epidermolysis bullosa could generate the disease as a defense against society, since skin diseases are generally due to a conflict caused by separation or lack of contact with a loved one, based on feelings of abandonment, rejection and sadness (an emotion on which lung problems are based). From the nursing point of view, it would be good to include this perspective in the daily work method in order to offer a broader care and try to solve the patients' problems from the basis of these and not only from the physical point of view
