El proceso de comunicación entre las personas afectadas por enfermedad de Alzheimer / demencias y sus cuidadores: una revisión bibliográfica.

Resumen
Las personas afectadas por enfermedad de Alzheimer/Demencias experimentan alteraciones cognitivas y del comportamiento que afectan a su capacidad para comunicarse. Con la evolución de la enfermedad los problemas del lenguaje y la comunicación tienen un gran impacto en la persona afectada, el cuidador familiar y en el proceso de cuidados. El propósito de este estudio es revisar las estrategias que están resultando beneficiosas en la mejora de la comunicación y determinar el grado de apoyo y evidencia disponible sobre ellas. Para ello, en primer lugar, se realizaron búsquedas de la literatura relevante para la revisión en las bases de datos nacionales e internacionales y, en segundo lugar, una revisión de las guías de práctica clínica y guías educativas para cuidadores. De la revisión de los resultados obtenidos se pone de manifiesto la gran heterogeneidad de esta cuestión y la necesidad de investigación, educación y formación para establecer estrategias de comunicación basadas en la evidencia empírica en el curso clínico de esta enfermedad.
