Hero y Leandro. El mito y su repercusión en la literatura y el arte.

Abstract

El amor como temática recurrente en la creación literaria debido a su indudable importancia en el comportamiento y pensamiento del ser humano es el punto de partida del presente trabajo. La presencia del amor en la mitología y la pervivencia de los símbolos de ésta a lo largo de los tiempos la hacen fundamental en este trabajo. Tomando como elemento cohesivo el mito de Hero y Leandro, se elabora un estudio en el que toman parte diversos poetas, pintores y escultores que han tratado el tema mitológico vinculado al amor en sus obras. En cuanto a la Literatura, se hace hincapié en las composiciones de los poetas más ilustres del Siglo de Oro, debido a que su recurrente referencia a la mitología sirve de herramienta para la comprensión del trabajo.

Love is a common theme in literary creation, because of its undoubted importance in the behaviour and thinking of the human being. Therefore, this is the starting point of this project. The presence of love in mythology and the survival of the symbols over time make it an essential element. Using the myth of Hero y Leandro as a cohesive element, a study in which many poets, painters and sculptors are included, who have all used a mythological theme linked to love in their works. As for literature, the emphasis is in the compositions of the most famous poets of the Golden Age, because their recurrent reference to mythology serves as a tool for understanding the work.
