Resumen
[ES] El presente Trabajo de Fin de Máster tiene como principal temática el uso de los diccionarios en la asignatura de inglés en la etapa de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria en Andalucía (España), más específicamente en el tercer año. El uso del diccionario en esta asignatura, a pesar de ser una herramienta beneficiosa para el aprendizaje de idiomas extranjeros por su marcado carácter pedagógico, es muy limitado y su utilización no está para nada arraigada en los estudiantes, quienes desconocen el potencial de los diccionarios al no recibir la suficiente información sobre ellos en los diferentes ámbitos educativos. En consecuencia, este TFM tiene como finalidad mejorar la situación de los diccionarios en esta asignatura, fomentando su utilización en clase para la realización de diferentes actividades con el
objetivo de mejorar las destrezas en la utilización de los diccionarios en el alumnado y, por ende, el rendimiento de los estudiantes en la asignatura de inglés.
[EN] The present MA dissertation has as its main topic the use of dictionaries in the subject of English in Compulsory Secondary Education in Andalusia (Spain), more specifically in the third year of this stage. The use of dictionaries in this subject, although they are considered to be a beneficial tool for language learning due to their clear pedagogical nature, is quite limited and their use is not settled at all among students, who are not aware of the strengths of dictionaries since they do not receive enough input in the different educative levels. Consequently, the main purpose of this MA dissertation is to improve the current situation of dictionaries in this subject, fostering their utilisation in the lessons with the realisation of different activities, with the objective of refining the dictionary-using skills of the students and, therefore, improving the performance of the students in the English subject.
