A study on the teaching use of digital tools for learning English as a foreign language

Abstract

La finalidad de este Trabajo Fin de Máster es hacer un estudio acerca del uso de herramientas digitales en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la lengua extranjera inglesa. Para ello, en primer lugar se explican los aspectos teóricos relativos al uso de las nuevas tecnologías en educación y las diferentes metodologías que se pueden utilizar hoy en día para la enseñanza centrada en la tecnología, conociendo el papel del profesor en esta metodología. Además, se ofrecerá una taxonomía de diferentes herramientas digitales que se pueden usar para la enseñanza de la lengua extranjera y el trabajo de las diferentes destrezas. Finalmente, en la parte central de este trabajo se estudiará una encuesta realizada a maestros de inglés en Educación Primaria acerca de la aptitud hacia el uso de herramientas digitales en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la lengua extranjera analizando los datos obtenidos de dichas respuestas.

The purpose of this Master's Dissertation is to carry out a study about the use of digital tools in the teaching-learning process of the English foreign language. To do this, first the theoretical aspects related to the use of new technologies in education and the different methodologies that can be used today for technology-focused teaching are explained, knowing the role of the teacher in this methodology. In addition, taxonomy of different digital tools which can be used for teaching the foreign language and working on different skills will be offered. Finally, in the central part of this work, a survey conducted among English as a Foreign Language teachers in Primary Education about their attitude for using digital tools in the teaching-learning of the foreign language will be studied, analyzing the data obtained from these answers.
