The access of people with disabilities to higher education is an increasingly common occurrence. The arrival and the increase of the number of people with disabilities in the university environment are explained thanks to the advance in the matter of state legislation, as well as to the increase of awareness and recognition of the right to education under equal conditions. Despite advances in different social areas, the rate of people with disabilities who access higher education and manage to complete them is still very low. This is what is called the rate of graduates, people who begin to pursue university studies in relation to those who complete them. The university drop-out rate for people with disabilities is higher than for the general population. In this work we intend to know the resources and university services dedicated to favor the inclusion of the collective, through significant and not significant adaptations. As well as perform an analysis of the data regarding the insertion and educational success of students with disabilities in the university. In short, this document will serve as support to anyone to obtain basic information and to know the university context that supports people with disabilities when they reach the higher educational stage at the university, as well as contextualize the situation (progress and challenges) of university students with disabilities in Spain.
