Resumen
La Responsabilidad Social supone en la gestión de las organizaciones, considerar e integrar principios y valores éticos, sociales y medioambientales. Las Universidades Públicas por su vocación y orientación social, promueven, desarrollan y aplican la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria, a través de las funciones sociales que son propias: misiones encomendadas en el servicio público de la educación superior, pero, además, se ha ampliado a lo que se ha denominado “la tercera misión”, que implica acentuar la función colectiva respecto a la sociedad en general y a su entorno más próximo. En este marco, para la Universidad de Jaén, la Responsabilidad Social es un elemento esencial unido a su razón de ser, siendo un aspecto básico incluido en sus valores y estrategias, desarrollado a través de un esquema propio de gestión de la Responsabilidad Social y utilizando el Modelo EFQM de Excelencia como referente para su evaluación y mejora.
