Estudio sobre Klebsiella en neonatos en las unidades especiales del hospital de Jaén

Abstract

Objetivo: Estudiar los casos de infecciones por Klebsiella en recién nacidos ingresados en las unidades especiales de neonatología y observar las variables de dichos casos para analizar los posibles riesgos de infección y el desarrollo de las mismas. Metodología: Desarrollo de un estudio descriptivo-transversal a partir de los datos recopilados de las historias clínicas de 29 neonatos ingresados en las unidades especiales neonatales del Hospital Materno Infantil (HMI) de Jaén, en el que se utilizan diferentes variables. Resultados: En los 29 casos los parámetros observados fueron: sexo , peso al nacimiento, semanas de gestación, tiempo de estancia hospitalaria, diagnósticos, procedencia, tipo de infección, especie de Klebsiella, si cursa con otra bacteria, en caso afirmativo, con cuántas y cuáles son, vía de contagio, destino (alta/defunción), causa de la muerte, tratamiento y tipo de parto. Conclusiones: Pese a no ser un estudio extrapolable se puede utilizar como visión general de Klebsiella en los neonatos del hospital de Jaén, y comprobando que se cumplen ciertos aspectos como el "riesgo" que suponen la prematuridad y el bajo peso, al darse como diagnóstico en la mayoría de bebés, y darse como características también en la mayoría de casos estudiados. Así mismo se observa la variedad de diagnósticos de los recién nacidos, lo que mostraría una mayor vulnerabilidad de los mismos. El uso de diferentes antibióticos manifiesta la multirresistencia de Klebsiella.

Objectives: To study the Klebsiella infections at newborns who are admitted in the neonatal special units and to observe the variables for those cases to analyze the possible infection risks and their progress. Methodology: Development of a cross-sectional study based on data collected from the Clinic records of 29 newborns admitted in the neonatal special units at Hospital Materno Infantil (HMI) from Jaén, in which some different variables are used. Results: In the 29 cases, the parameters observed were: gender, weight at birth, weeks of gestation, time in hospital, diagnostics, origin, kind of infection, Klebsiella species, if there are any other bacteria, if affirmative, how many more and which bacteria, transmission routes, destiny (discharge/death), cause of death, treatment and kind of birth. Conclusions: Even if this study can´t be extrapolated to any other population, it can be used as a general sight about Klebsiella at newborns in the hospital of Jaén, and some aspects could be checked, as the "risk" that prematurity and low weight, considering that those are diagnostics in most of the babies studied, and they are present in most of the cases too. Also it's observed that there are a wide variety and quantity of diagnostics, distinguishing the neonates' great weakness. The use of different antibiotics reveals Klebsiella's resistance to many of them.
