Resumen
CR1SPR/Cas9 es un sistema de manipulación genética de una aparición muy reciente. Compuesto por las secuencias CRISPR y sus proteínas asociadas (Cas), actúan en bacterias de manera natural como un sistema de defensa inmunitario contra fagos y elementos genéticos móviles. El sistema, gracias a su actividad endonucleasa dirigida por ARN guía y la sencillez que presenta para modificarlo a placer, constituye un importante avance en el campo de la modificación dirigida de genomas y sus aplicaciones se han convertido en uno de los bloques más importantes a explotar durante los próximos años en esta área de la biología.
CR1SPR/Cas9 is a system of genetic manipulation of a very recent appearance. Composed by the CRISPR sequences and their associated proteins (Cas), they act in bacteria in a natural way as an immune defence system against phages and mobile genetic elements. The system, thanks to its directed endonuclease activity by guide RNA and the simplicity that presents to modify it at pleasure, constitutes an important advance in the field of directed modification of genomes and their applications and has become one of the most important blocks to explode during the next few years in this area of biology.
