Historia de la vida en la tierra: extinciones masivas

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la elaboración de una Unidad Didáctica en la asignatura de Biología y Geología de 4º ESO, teniendo como meta que el alumnado adquiera una visión profunda y crítica de la vida en el planeta Tierra a lo largo del tiempo. Para ello se parte de la edad de la Tierra y de la evolución de la vida en ella, y se presentan los acontecimientos de origen terrestre o extraterrestre que dieron origen a las grandes extinciones masivas de los seres vivos. Se aclaran los conceptos de Registro Geológico y Registro fósil que constituyen la fuente de información sobre el pasado de la Tierra. Como metodología se ha optado en la Unidad Didáctica por la indagación en la creencia que es la mejor vía para el aprendizaje de los alumnos. Los contenidos de la unidad se completan con actividades prácticas donde se entrenan diferentes competencias. The objective of this work is the elaboration of a Teaching Unit in the subject of Biology and Geology of the 4th ESO, aiming that the students acquire a deep and critical vision of life on planet Earth throughout time. To do this, we start from the age of the Earth and the evolution of life on it, addressing the events of terrestrial or extraterrestrial origin that gave rise to the great mass extinctions of living beings. The concepts of Geological Record and Fossil Record that constitute the source of information on the Earth's past are clarified. Inquiry methodology has been chosen in the Teaching Unit thinking that it is the best way for students' learning. The contents of the unit are completed with practical activities where different competences are trained. Keywords: Life on Earth, fossil record, type of extinctions, geological time.
