Mercado laboral: crisis económica 2008 vs pandemia 2020

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación manifiesta la disyuntiva entre dos crisis que han impactado fuertemente en el mercado laboral español. Por un lado, la pandemia del Covid-19, que es analizada en el periodo 2021/2019. Por otro lado, la crisis económica e inmobiliaria, que, a diferencia de la Pandemia, ha sido analizada en un mayor periodo de tiempo, particularmente entre 2008/2014. La diferencia fundamental entre ambas crisis es que la crisis sanitaria ha sido provocada por un shock de oferta, mientras que la crisis económica sucedió por uno de demanda. Tras haber analizado las variables más relevantes del mercado laboral tales como son ocupados, desempleados, PIB nacional y Per Cápita, entre otros, a través de organismos oficiales como el Instituto Nacional de Estadística, la Encuesta de Población Activa, etc., hemos constatado cómo la crisis sanitaria ha tenido un efecto más impactante en el mercado laboral en comparación con la crisis económica.

This research paper highlights the dilemma between two crises that have severely impacted the Spanish labor market. On the one hand, the Covid-19 pandemic, which is analyzed in the period 2019-2021. On the other hand, the economic and real estate crisis, which, unlike the pandemic, has been analyzed over a longer period, particularly between 2008 and 2014. The fundamental difference between the two crises is that the health crisis was caused by a supply shock, while the economic crisis was caused by a demand shock. After analyzing the most relevant variables of the labor market, such as employed, unemployed, national GDP and per capita, among others, through official bodies such as the National Institute of Statistics, the Active Population Survey, etc., we have found that the health crisis has had a more impactful effect on the labor market compared to the economic crisis.
