Recorrido lingüístico a través de la Lengua de Signos Española

Abstract

El ser humano ha sentido siempre la necesidad de comunicarse, ya sea a través de ruidos, de sonidos, de palabras o de gestos. Sin embargo, como se verá en este trabajo, las personas sordas no siempre han recibido el beneplácito de los que sí tienen la facultad de escuchar y, por lo tanto, de hablar. Este trabajo consta de tres bloques: en el primer bloque se definirá qué es una persona y comunidad sorda y, tras ello, se determinará qué es la Lengua de Signos Española. En el segundo bloque se enumerarán las figuras más representativas dentro de la Lengua de Signos, partiendo de lo antiguo hasta llegar al siglo XX. Finalmente, el tercer bloque se centrará en el desarrollo de la lingüística de la Lengua de Signos en España.

Human beings have always felt the need to communicate, whether through noises, sounds, words, or gestures. However, as will be seen in this work, deaf people have not always received the approval of those who do have the ability to hear and, therefore, to speak. This work consists of three sections: the first section will define what a deaf person and community is, and then, what Spanish Sign Language is. The second section will list the most representative figures within Sign Language, starting from ancient times up to the 20th century. Finally, the third section will focus on the development of the linguistics of Sign Language in Spain.
