Food craving is defined as an intense desire to consume a specific food. It has been associated with impulsivity and sensitivity to reward. The aim of this study was to analyze whether the “impulsivity”, “sensitivity to reward” and “sensitivity to punishment” were related to food craving. The existences of difference are also analyzed in the experience of food craving by sex and Body Mass Index (BMI). The study was conducted with a sample of 60 undergraduate participants (44 women and 16 men), ranging in age from 18 to 25 years old. The results showed that impulsivity correlated positively with food craving. In the same way, it was discovered that sensitivity to reward and sensitivity to punishment were also related to food craving. This study allows us to conclude that higher levels of impulsivity, sensitivity to reward and sensitivity to punishment might be more likely to experience food craving. Less thus impulsive people with low sensitivity to punishment and low sensitivity to reward are less likely to do so.
