The work is structured in two parts. The first presents a theoretical framework for the study of the concept of Environmental Education, as well as an analysis of the treatment of the environment in education in Spain, specifically in Primary Education. The second presents a Teaching Unit related to the classification of living beings: animals and plants, environmental conservation, and knowledge about their immediate surroundings. This Teaching Unit will be based on the core subject of Natural Sciences for 6th grade. It will be presented through a series of activities and two field trips. Various assessments will be conducted to verify the level of acquisition. All of this is done using a socio-constructivist methodology and cooperative and meaningful learning. Training competent teachers on the subject of planetary conservation is an essential requirement if we want our students to acquire these skills.
