nativos, necesidades educativas.
[EN]Teaching English as a foreign language enhances the learning of the language and the parallel acquisition of several linguistic skills, but also of new cultural and social features of the target language. In some places, the presence of young native speakers of English that cope with both languages, Spanish and English, in the classroom is a reality that teachers have to face every day, especially in tourist areas in Spain where these students do not feel the need to acquire the Spanish language. Moreover, the incorporation of these native speakers of English into the Spanish educative system implies some lack of accuracy in certain skills, such as writing and reading. This dissertation sets out to address this area by examining the features of mixed-ability classes, surveying our own teaching context and presenting a didactic proposal. Our ultimate objective has been to design specific didactic tasks that will suit these mixed-ability students in order to squeeze all their potential in class and make them feel helpful and motivated while learning. Key words: Native speakers of English, mixed-ability language classes, teaching English to native speakers, learning needs
