In this report it is shown the results obtained from the synthesis and characterization of Schiff bases derived from uracil and pteridine with 2-hidroxibenzohydrazide, as well as the complexes synthesized by reacting both ligands with Cd(II) perchlorate and [RhCl(CO)(PPh3)2]. In addition, its structural elucidation has been carried out by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and NMR, also using the X-ray diffraction for one of the rhodium complexes which was obtained as monocrystals. Once the results have been analysed, it is observed that the ligands can coordinate in a neutral or deprotonated form, through different positions, depending on the complex they form.
