Resumen
Para comprender en su totalidad las características clínicas del Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) y realizar un diagnóstico diferencial con otras entidades es fundamental conocer como ha evolucionado su conceptualización hasta nuestros días. El TEA, de epidemiología creciente y etiología desconocida aunque posiblemente multifactorial, se caracteriza generalmente por la alteración de fundamentalmente 3 áreas: comunicación, integración social y flexibilidad de conductas e intereses (Triada de Wing, 1979). La música se ha utilizado con fines terapéuticos para conseguir adaptación, desarrollo y rehabilitación en conductas de tipo psicosocial, cognitivo y sensorial en personas con discapacidad, planteándose recientemente como alternativa terapéutica en niños con TEA. El objetivo del presente trabajo es diseñar y elaborar para este sector de la población la “Escala de Entrenamiento en Habilidades Cognitivo-Musicales”.
