[EN] In this report we have analysed how the formation of words in the Spanish as a Foreign Language (SFL) classroom is treated, taking into account the teachers’ beliefs and professional practices. The report is divided into two sections. First, we review the relevant academic literature. By analysing official documents which deal with this subject, we are able to understand the status and treatment of this issue among the teaching community, by looking at Spanish Language Manuals designed for foreign students, as well as the beliefs of the teachers, as these will influence their teaching practice. The second part of the report is more practical and less theoretical in nature. It includes an analysis of the interviews carried out by the author to various SFL teachers to highlight that the findings of the analysis of the SFL theory also have a place in teaching practice.
