The research performed in this Bachelor Degree Thesis has been focused on the study of the parameters which influence the bubble formation process. In that area there are many papers or research articles. Particularly, it has been approached on the bubble formation process on hydrophobic surfaces, for which there is a lack of information. The contact line dynamic and contact angle hysteresis are highly important in this type of surfaces. The research carried out can be divided into three stages. During the first stage, an experimental study was performed, in which results were obtained by recording high-speed movies. The second stage consists in the development of the image processing technique by inhouse codes. In the third stage a post-processing of data and the obtaining of final results were carried out. The results represent new information on the problem at hand achieved and a high precision has been achieved, which has been verified by statistical parameters and other research articles in this area.
