Mathematics is a fundamental tool in Primary Education as it is one of the core subjects taught at this stage of school. Furthermore, it helps us develop our logical, critical, and abstract thinking. No matter how harsh reality may be, every day there are people who try to deceive us, who try to disguise data to manipulate us at will, and who try to lead us down other paths so we cannot reach the truth. That is why mathematics is a very powerful tool for educating critical citizens, who know how to solve everyday problems at all times, how to interpret data, how to add and subtract, how to use different coins and bills, and everything that learning mathematics entails, with the sole purpose of helping each of us find that truth and not be mere puppets who settle for what other people tell us. As Plato said, we spend so many hours of mathematics because mathematics helps us seek the good. The main objective of this project is the educational commitment teachers must have when teaching mathematics, specifically the knowledge of different coins and bills and their use in everyday life. To this end, we will carry out a series of activities consisting of steps for learning this content: first experiential, then manipulative, then on paper, and finally, real-life exercises.
