Abstract

[ES]El presente trabajo desarrolla la propuesta didáctica “Let’s Hook on Reading!”, un proyecto integrado cuyo eje vertebrador es fomentar la adquisición de nuevo vocabulario y estructuras gramaticales en inglés en un aula de 6º de Primaria. Para ello emplearemos la famosa obra de Roal Dahl, Matilda. La metodología de trabajo seleccionada permite un tratamiento innovadorde algunos de los contenidos curriculares más importantes dentro del área de Lengua Extranjera para el tercer ciclo de Primaria, a la vez que resulta un formato sencillo y atractivo para los discentes. Literatura, cine y teatro confluyen en la clase de inglés, permitiendo el desarrollo de una gran variedad de actividades para la consecución de los objetivos propuestos. Y es que, la integración de nuevos medios en el aula abre las puertas a una forma de educación más beneficiosa y fascinante, tanto para alumnado como para profesorado.

[EN]This essay develops the didactic proposal called “Let’s Hook on Reading!”, an integrated project whose main aim is to promote vocabulary and grammar acquisition in English in a sixth grade classroom. In order to do this, we are going to use Matilda, one of the most famous books written by Roal Dahl. We have chosen a working method that allows an innovative treatment of the most important curricular contents in the English area in the third cycle of Primary school, while it is a simple and appealing format for the students. Literature, film and theatre ebb into the English lesson and allow the development of a wide range of activities in order to achieve the proposed aims. The truth is that the convergence of new means in the classroom provides both the students and the teachers with the opportunity to benefit from a more advantageous and fascinating kind of education.
